Electric vehicles offer tons of environmental benefits, but you might be surprised to see how many owner benefits you can explore in El Cajon and La Mesa. In addition to the lower fueling costs and lower maintenance costs, the numerous California EV rebate options and incentives can help you save a ton of money on your next vehicle. Explore options like the California Clean Fuel rebate and more, then start shopping for hybrids and EVs with Kearny Mesa Kia.

California Clean Fuel Reward (CCFR)

When you purchase an eligible vehicle at a participating location, you can save not only on gas prices but also on the sticker price of your brand new car. The California Clean Fuel Reward offers up to $750 on the purchase or lease of an eligible new Battery Electric (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) vehicle. How can you become eligible for the California Clean Fuel rebate?

  • Drivers must reside in California and must register the vehicle in California as well.
  • Drivers must buy or lease a new electric vehicle with a battery capacity greater than 5 kWh.
  • Your CCFR incentive will be listed on your lease or purchase agreement under categories like “rebate/non-cash credits,” “EV incentive,” “manufacturer rebate,” or “other” line.

Which Kia Vehicles Qualify for the CCFR?

If you’re interested in the California Clean Fuel Reward, which Kia models qualify? Whether you want a high-tech crossover like the EV6 or a El Cajon favorite like the Sorento, you can take your pick of the following three eligible vehicles:

Other California EV Rebate Options

Beyond the California Clean Fuel Reward, there are other incentives and rebates to consider. California’s push toward renewable energy has created broad opportunities for saving, including:

  • Utilities: We urge you to contact your utility service provider if you’re interested in purchasing an EV model. Residential customers can receive rebates of $1,500 for the purchase and installation of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) at companies like Liberty, Alameda Municipal Power, and more.
  • Businesses: Businesses, commercial customers, and fleets can also find rebates for the purchase of EVSE at the workplace or multi-unit dwelling.
  • Used Cars: New cars qualify for the CCFR, but used vehicles may also qualify for local incentives, like the Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) in San Mateo County or the Used Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) Rebate Program in Los Angeles.
