Purchased my car here and I get my services here. On this particular visit, the wait to check in was a little long, but overall the liaison was polite and I like that they do everything by text. They also charge a service fee for using your credit card which is getting way too common. I used a debit card to avoid the fee. There are lots of restaurants, shops and cafes in the area to go to while you’re waiting.

I was there to have my horn fixed, I've been without a horn for over a month. Your technicians had to email the engineers and ask them how to fix it. Their service department is great and professional always brought my vehicles here no problems and if there were any issues they would call me and response quickly to my text messages when they have my vehicle in service. They even caught a small leak in my engine before my factory warranty ended and fix the issue. So they really do a great inspection of the vehicle every time I bring in my vehicles.

I had a mixed experience at this dealership. Some of the sales staff were friendly and helpful. Daniel and Jon W were especially great to work with and made the process smoother. However, working with the sales manager was difficult due to constant back-and-forth communication. While I did purchase my car, I would recommend working directly with Daniel or Jon W if possible.

I moved very recently from South Orange County to San Diego. I must say that my first visit to this dealership was excellent. The service was prompt and I would like to commend my service advisor, Vanessa for seeking me out and keeping me informed. I would also like to give a shout out to the advisor who sits to the right of her for offering and helping me replace my windshield wipers. I had a warning light on my car. After a day, they figured out it was the oxygen sensor and also inspected the car, recommending some other work. That's when it got confusing. One report said the tires had 3/32 tread left and should be replaced. Another report said 8/32. The engine clutch actuator fluid was recommended to be replaced, but the description talked about an air filter. I didn't have them do either of those. They did fix the original problem.
I took in my car for warranty service. I dropped it off a day early and had to wait 40 minutes before I was able to drop it off. Someone finally took me into the service writer area after he saw me waiting for so long. The service writer said that whoever checked me in did not put something in the computer that said that I was waiting? It was weird because no one else was in there. My 2020 Kia with just 47k miles (2nd owner) suffered a catastrophic engine failure, a known issue. To be clear, the service representative was courteous and stated he advocated on my behalf. Despite providing maintenance records, I was accused of improper maintenance, and the service department, the district manager and KIA corporate denied any goodwill coverage while presenting a $12,000 engine replacement quote as my only option. Dealer did not fully disclose hidden fee’s (the karr security system) during price negations and credit check. I did not learn of the mandatory $2,730 security system installed on my vehicle until I met with the finance manager which was a complete surprise and something I did not agree to during the original price negotiations.
Kearny Mesa was the best dealership we have been to. Been shopping for over a week and saw many different dealerships. This was the best one we walked into and made the sale.
I’ve been coming to Kearny Mesa Kia for years and have never been disappointed. My recent visit with the service department was due to a slight defect with my Kia Soul.. The service department got me in within a week and did a great job. Felipe was professional, thorough and communication was excellent throughout the process.
